Materials Needed:
- THIS CARD FILE
- 65lb cardstock paper in desired colors
- Polar Cubies
- Precision art glue
- Embossing folder
- Scissors
- Die cut machine
- Paper slicer
- Copy paper
Step 1: Prepare Your Materials
- Gather all your materials in a clean, spacious workspace. You can use a blank card or create a card with cardstock from the file.
- Cut out all of your pieces and lay them out.
Step 2: Set up your maze
- Glue down the larger maze piece to the plain white paper.
- Pro tip- glue down the maze lines well so they will not lift or tear through the craft.
Step 3: Emboss your maze
- Before gluing down the smaller maze piece, we will want to emboss the paper. Place your maze paper into the embossing folder the right way up as it will only emboss one side) and run it through the die machine.
Step 4: Create your interior
- Cut copy paper to the shape and size of your card or small and glue to the interior of your card.
Step 5: Complete your maze
- To add depth to your card, add Cubies to the back of your smaller maze card and attach it to your larger maze card.
- Pro-tip - Cut Cubies to size to fit onto the loose maze pieces to secure them to prevent tearing and bending.
- Glue the maze to the front of your card.
Step 6: Add some detail
- Glue the color rectangle piece to the white rectangle piece, leaving a small white border around the edges.
- Glue vertically next to the maze.
- Glue white rectangle horizontally at the bottom to where is layers over the colored vertical paper and onto the maze paper but doesn’t layer over the maze.
- Write a little message onto the white paper. We recommend “You are aMAZEing!”
- Connect small circle and heart piece with a small Cubie piece. You can squish it down and slide the back into the maze.
Step 7: Admire Your Handiwork
Congratulations! You've just created an a-MAZE-ing handmade card! Admire your creation and consider personalizing it further with additional embellishments.

Cards for Cubs is a registered, non-profit organization aiming to support and encourage young people in foster care through uplifting, handmade cards reminding them that they are not alone.
We depend on donors like you for your unique and inspiring cards. We send all donated cards to foster agencies who help get our cards into the hands of the young people in their care.
Caseworkers, who know the child personally use our handcrafted cards to write encouraging notes as they enter, or return to, the foster system.
A card may mean the world to a child, who is working through integrating with a foster family, working on reunification with their biological family, or experiencing adoption.
Let’s work together to place a card in the hand of every young person in the United States foster care to remind them they are loved and cherished.
